Fall Foliage Travel Cruise - Sunday 10/06/2013
Wow, "Did we pick the right weekend to see the leaves or what?"
The Hi Lites Motor Club will be participating in a “Fall Foliage Travel Cruise” on Sunday, October 6th.We started this tradition last year and had an absolute blast. We take a easy ride (5 mph under the speed limit) with a large lineup of beautiful cars and get more looks, waves and cheers than the train ride at Knoebels. Last year we had 23 cars and about 30 participants. This year we hope to make the event even bigger.
Cars will start to gather at 8:30 AM at “Gunn Brothers Garage” (across rt 118 from the Citco Station in Lehman) and will head out at 9:00 AM.
We are planning on having some coffee and light snacks between 8:30 and 9:00.
The travel cruise will head out to the “Quaker Steak and Lube" restaurant located in the Buckhorn section of Bloomsburg. The travel path will have us head west on RT118, turn left onto 487 South and then take the onramp to I 80 in Bloomsburg. The restaurant is just off the Buckhorn exit on I 80.
After spending some time at the Bike Barn, we will continue on Rt 11 North and arrive back in Lehman sometime mid afternoon.
Although participants are not required to travel to Bill's Bike Barn, we would ask that those who choose to head home after the meal, wait in the Quaker Steak and Lube parking lot until all others who will be following the cruise have left for Bill's Bile Barn. Last year there was a lot of confusion when cars wanting to go to Bill's were following cars that were heading home.
After a nice meal and a few photos, participants are welcome to continue on with the cruise to “Bill's Bike Barn, located only a short distance away, (10 -15 min) where participants will be able to see vintage motorcycles, military displays, and vintage posters and memorabilia. (Check out their web site). There is $5.00 admission per person to Bill's.
This travel cruise is open to all members and friends of the Hi Lites Motor Club.
If there are any questions, please use the contact form on the Hi Lites website.

The next trophy went to an absolutely gorgeous 1964 Food Galaxy 500 owned by Michael Bednar from Dallas

We are sure every club member will want to be in attendance with their car to honor Dave and support his family. Please see the flyer below. Opening Cruise is a Huge Success
The Hi Lites Motor Club opened their 2013 season with a Cruise at the Pikes Creek Raceway Park on Saturday May 18th. The weather tried to put a damper on the day, but the faithful fired up their rides and showed up for a great event. The rain held off and the event went without any issues.
There were twenty-three classic and antique vehicles Ranging from a beautiful 49' Dodge Coronet to a sweet looking 84' Vette. Red was the color of the day as the show saw eleven cars sporting some shade of red while yellow was also a popular color with four more rides reflecting that hue.
While waiting for the prizes and trophies some of the participants took their smack talking to the go-cart track to finally puit an end to the "Who is the best driver" argument. In this round, it wasn't Ford vs. Chevy, but rather Briggs vs. Tecumseh.
If you watched closely, you might have noticed a driver or two trying to adjust the carburator to gain that extra edge. In the end it was all smiles and laughs and they were all winners.
Door prizes and trophies seem to "hi-lite" the evening and this evening was no different. We had four trophies and several door prizes handed out.
The winner of the first ever "Dave Nuss Memorial" trophy was Gene and Becky Derhammer from Pikes Creek with their beautifully restored 68' Mercury Cougar.
Other winners included PeteVogrin with his 69' AMX,
Bill cave with his 57' Chevrolet and
John Doty with his 64' Chevrolet.

Cruise Season Starts Saturday May 18th
We hope you can join us a the Starting Line of out 2013 Cruise season Saturday May 18th from 4pm-7pm at the Pikes Creek Raceway Park on Rt 118 in Lehman.
This cruise always packs a crowd and is great fun for everyone. Part of the success of the Pikes Creek Raceway Cruises is that there is so much to do besides just looking at some really cool cars. Another reason this cruise will be so amazing is that club members and friends have been working hard on their winter projects and can now show them off to everyone. While at the cruise guests can ride go carts, play mini golf and kids can enjoy the playground equipment and listen to some great music DJ'd by the one and only Jack Judge.
This season we will be awarding 4 trophies at each event. We added a trophy to the normal three this year in honor of are dearly departed member Dave Nuss. Dave was the club secretary for years and you may remember him as our Public Address Announcer at many of our past events. This year each show will have a Crew Chief and Pit crew. The Pit Crew will be responsible for picking the three random winners and the Crew Chief will be responsible for picking the winner of the Dave Nuss Memorial Trophy.
We invite you to join us for few hours of great family fun and a chance to enjoy our hobby with us. We look forward to seeing you their
